Project-a-phone brings large displays to mobiles and handhelds Toni McConnel Concord, Ma. – Another alternative to increasing the viewing area of most mobile devices without necessarily increasing the size of the handheld is a new add on from Project-a-Phone. The ICD-5000 Image Capture and Display system allows users to give a live demonstration of a phone screen on a computer or take still shots and video The ICD-5000 delivers a live image of a handheld device screen to a computer, so it can be recorded, displayed on a monitor, projected on a screen or shared through the Web. Project-a-Phone hardware securely clamps the phone in place and delivers a live video feed of the screen image to a PC through a USB cable. The software displays live video, lets users record video and audio, takes still images individually or in a programmed sequence, and can display multiple screens simultaneously. The ICD-5000 package includes software and a carrying case. It costs $395 with quantity discounts available. It incorporates a 5.17 megapixel CCD sensor that allows display or recording of video up to 30 fps at VGA and captures three mega-pixel screenshots. Powered by USB cable, it weighs under two pounds and runs on Windows 2000/XP/ME. To learn more, go to www.projectaphone.com.
