London, England -- Mobile Video Imaging (MVI), Ltd. has made availablefor third party leasing its MVI-1 standards-based H.264 codec, designedfor software and hardware environments such as Windows, PocketPC, Java,
and Symbian on compact mobile Internet-centric computing and communications
appliances.
H.264 is the latest video encoding standard, developed jointly by the ISO
and MPEG organizations to offer high-quality video compression. With as
much as twice the encoding efficiency of previous standards, H.264 is suitable
for video deployment over the entire range of today's networks, both for
on-demand and real-time streaming applications.
According to the company, the new MVI-1 codec is scalable over networks
from GSM (9.6kbps) and GPRS through to broadband environments.
