Las Vegas, Nevada -- At the Consumer Electronics Show here, Phonex Broadband Corp. unveled its new ReadyWire Home Communications ASIC, built around a 100 MIPs ARM946 processor core.
Designed to allow connectivity to virtually any control or entertainment
system in the home via streaming video, the company said the patented ReadyWire
design is completely co-existent with current communication technologies and
offers a broad range of development interfaces.
The ReadyWire Home Communications Chip, said the company, is capable of
near CD quality audio broadcasts over existing power lines in the home to
up to 250 devices via up to 15 separate simultaneous near CD quality audio
channels and up to 7 separate simultaneous high-quality, full-duplex
voice lines. In addition, the design incorporates the ability to provide
automation control of up to 250 devices on each of 15 domains. Control data
and media transmissions for up to 3,750 devices are secured with onchip support
for Triple DES encryption. Transmission rates of up to 599 kbits/sec are
possible.
