Intel's LanDesk remote manager Goes Mobile

Riverton, Utah -- Intel Corp.'s new Mobile Manager add-on to its LANDesk Management Suite 6.6 brings the comprehensive management support available on the desktop PCs out to mobile PCs and PDAs.

To achieve this goal, Intel has combined the LanDesk management suite with XcelleNET's Afaria mobile/handheld management software.

Among the new capabilities the combination brings to remote mobile devices is the ability to deploy and update software applications on mobile devices; track software and hardware assets, version numbers, capabilities and other features for each device; distribute and update business content; data synchronization sophisticated back up and restore capabilities for mission critical data.

Beginning in September, pricing will begin at $64 per seat, with volume discounts for purchases of 100 or more seats.
