Aether ScoutWeb Moves Ahead with v2.0

Aether Systems, Inc., released ScoutWeb version 2.0, a component of the company's modular technology foundation, Aether Fusion. ScoutWeb allows businesses, portals, publishers, service providers, and wireless carriers to deliver Internet and intranet content to remote device.

The new version is Java-based, providing a unified user interface for quick setup of devices, transformation of rules, and support for more markup languages, including cHTML, WML for WAP, HTML, and XML. ScoutWeb runs on both Solaris and Windows 2000 Server operating systems.

Other features of ScoutWeb v2.0 include:

  • XSL processing engine
  • Support for PocketPC, RIM, WAP phones, PalmOS, and Symbian
  • Support for cookies
  • Automatic device detection

ScoutWeb is available from Aether at a starting list price of $30,000 for a single CPU server. Upgrades are being distributed for free to existing ScoutWeb customers with support contracts.
