Broadband Routers Enhanced for the Home

Demand for broadband access continues to rise despite adverse economic conditions, and MaxGate, Inc., is providing networking equipment to meet this demand. MaxGate created a new line of broadband routers with enhanced functionality that targets telco carriers and service providers.

The NetJet line of routers includes the 4014, 4010, and 4000 models. The NetJet-4014 is an integrated high-speed Internet sharing gateway and NAT firewall with a 4-port 10/100 auto-sense switch. The NetJet-4010 is an integrated high-speed Internet sharing gateway and NAT firewall with an uplink port. The NetJet-4000 is a full-rate high-speed CPE that supports downstream speeds up to 8Mbps and upstream speeds up to 1Mbps.

NetJet CPEs will allow multiple users to share a single ADSL connection and a single IP address. Up to 253 devices will be able to share the single IP address. Security features include automatic network address translation (NAT) to deflect any scripted intrusion attempts. The 4014 model also include DHCP server to work with NAT to provide network management. Web-based device management is provided for configuration through a browser.

The initial product release will include the NetJet-4000 (ADSL Modem for Ethernet and USB), NetJet-4010 (ADSL Modem with integrated router), and NetJet-4014 (ADSL Modem with integrated router plus 4-port switch). All models will feature an intuitive, easy-to-use interface and a built-in real-time clock that allows real-time information monitoring by the end user. On the WAN side, the modems comply with ADSL standards (G.dmt, G.lite and T1.413). LAN connectivity is through a 10BaseT or 10/100BaseT Ethernet port.
