Cayman Upgrades with Calypso Gateways

Cayman Systems delivers on its Calypso family of user-upgradeable, broadband gateways that provides broad support of networking standards.

This new family of broadband gateways is designed for telecommuter, small business and home networks. The Calypso family of broadband gateway products extends the experience of Cayman's existing 3220 and 2E series of gateway products.

Built into the devices are BreakWater, a basic firewall; BarrierReef, an advanced firewall; security monitoring; and SafeHarbor, which provides virtual private network (VPN) capabilities. The Calypso product family is equipped with a fully functional 4-port 10BaseT Ethernet hub, USB device interface, and a field upgradeable PCMCIA slot for either an 802.11b or HomeRF wireless access point. Additionally, Calypso supports HomePNA networking.
