Move over laptops, here's something leaner! The WebTablet 380 from CorAccess is a Windows CE-based digital Web tablet that gives users wireless and wired network connectivity. This particular CorAccess device can be used for corporate, vertical, and home control markets, including healthcare, hospitality, and education. ![]() For vertical markets, network connectivity is a main concern because the device usually needs to send and retrieve important information on a regular, reliable basis. To address this, CorAccess has equipped the WebTablet with 802.11b wireless LAN capabilities and Cirtix ICA, as well as Microsoft RDP client/server computing protocols to facilitate information distribution. Terminal Emulation software also allows the device to run desktop applications. Speaking of applications, the National Geode-based WebTablet also ships with Internet Explorer 4.0, Microsoft Media Player, JVM, Acrobat PDF viewer, Macromedia Flash Player, and Microsoft Office Suite Viewer. 32 MB of flash memory and 64 MB SDRAM will allow you to save content or add applications as needed. You can also use the CompactFlash card slot to add applications or memory at will. Working with the WebTablet is fairly accomodating as you have the choice of using the 8.4-inch touchscreen, which also serves as a 800 x 600 resolution display, or a USB-enabled mouse or keyboard. The USB port can also hook up to a network printer, so you can send documents to print without having to go through a network PC. And for entertainment while working, the WebTablet supports 16-bit audio with stereo and a built-in speaker and microphone. Pricing and Availability The WebTablet 380 is currently available.
