The Wireless Access Point II from Avaya extends
the range of a wired Ethernet network by connecting to the 100 Mb backbone or
being bridged to create a wireless network. With dual slot architecture, the
Access Point II gives added flexibility for areas that need more mobility or
are difficult to wire.

Because security and management are always a concern with wireless access, they are vital aspects to address. As for management, the Wireless AP Management software gives users a Windows-based interface for configuration. With this, your IT professional can centrally manage a network of Access Points, monitor statistics and tables, conduct diagnostics, and update the AP II's software. Client addressing is conducted through DHCP. As for security, the AP II includes access security, MAC-based authorization with RADIUS, RC4-based encryption support, access control using Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technology, a spanning tree algorithm, and selective protocol filtering. The 2.0 x 7.3 x 10.2-inch device weighs 3.86 lbs. and connects to your network via a 100BaseT RJ-45 connector, RS-232 slot, or two slots, which are available for wireless PC cards.
